It is straight out of the camera (except for the black and white conversion). Kate was playing "ballerina" in her room. I used my 85 mm lens which is hard for me to use indoors (space wise) and natural light. Aperture priority f 1.8

How exciting!!! And can I say...you know I am a fan of your photography...love everything you publish on the blog...but Kim...this one might just be my favorite (maybe rivaled just a bit from the picture of Kate swaggering down the beach...I DID love that one so much!). If this is Day 1...can't wait to see the next 364...Fun!!!

I love this picture of Kate! I, too, can't wait to see the other 364!
I did this with my kids (they were 7 mos and 2 yrs 7 mos at the time) and at the end I put together a photo book. I don't regret a second of it. It's an amazing gift to have. And you'll figure out how to bend the rules - on NON-busy days, take two pictures - one in the day outfit and one in pjs and wa-la...you have a spare picture just in case :)
