An explanation

Sorry to those of you who were worried about us because I made 3 pean*ts password protected. We are fine.  A boy at Harry's school found out about that blog (not this one) and he printed a photo of Harry and brought it to school.  He was not mean about it at all.  In fact, I think he just thought it was cool but it embarrassed Harry. They don't usually tell people at school about our blog. In this case, the boy heard about it from someone in Will's class so Harry was taken quite off guard. We talked about it as a family and we all want to continue 3 pean*ts but we thought that if we made it private for a week or two the boy would lose interest, stop going and forget about it.  It is not a big deal at all but I want Harry to feel comfortable and empowered.  Obviously, I could not explain this on 3 pean*ts and I do not know the boy or his family since we are new to the school.

Anyway, thank you for the concern. I am sorry to have worried some of you. We are fine and 3 pean*ts will be back up in a week or two:)
Oh and here is the recipe (several people have e-mailed me for it)

I will leave you with a recipe ....it doesn't have a name but it is one of my signature dishes. Maybe you can name it for me?

1 bunch of cilantro leaves chopped (discard stems)

1 box/bag of penne pasta

1 8 oz container of feta cheese (the herbed variety is good)

1 jar of sundried tomatoes in oil (slice into small bits--but KEEP the oil)

2-3 chicken breasts.

Marinate the chicken breasts for a few hours in your favorite marinade. I use Newman's Own Italian dressing.

Cook the pasta. While pasta is cooking, grill the chicken (I have Dave do this). Combine the cilantro, feta cheese, sundried tomatoes and oil in a large pasta bowl. Stir to combine ingredients. Add drained hot pasta and grilled chicken (cut into pieces). Stir to combine. Serve. Oh this is so yummy!!!! You are going to thank me.

I'm so glad you'll be back...you almost gave me a heartattack! You are usually my second "stop" for the day right after Rumor Queen and I'm a very ritualistic person so just imagine my panic when I couldn't find your fabulous blog!! Enjoy your time away from the blog and your time with the kids! I'm on Spring Break as well and look forward to a week off!!

Kim, Thats exactly why we had to go private with our blog as my teenagers were at the age where kids on the net can do mean things, and all though we never had any incidents the kids asked me to make it password protected so I did. As bad as I hate that in the blog world going private, I feel better going private as to talk in code or not share pictures and such.

I was worried too!

Its amazing the kids at school
are talking about the blog....I figured usually they'd think anything parents were doing would
be boring.

I can imagaine how Harry would
feel embarrassed.

Have a great spring break, and looking forward to the blog's return. : )

Glad all is well. I hate that for your son. I was about to go and find your email to make sure all is well with you. Hard on kids even if meant in kindness. I admire you all for protecting Harry though it. You are a great Mom to your kids. Have a great day.

Hoping you are back soon. I know how hard this is to explain to the boys. My oldest son says to me a lot that he doesn't want his photo taken for my "blog"! Have a great weekend, and I hope to catch up with you soon.

Hello, I am Michaela, adoptiv mom from Germany. I LOVE your blogs and I am happy, that you and your family are fine!
The recipe sounds wonderfull. In Italy that kind of pasta is called simply pasta fredda, because there is no sugo cooked and all (cool)ingredients are simply mixed under the fresh cooked penne. It is normally made of tomatoes, basil and mozzarella cheese, sometimes adding some tuna fish. Delicious!
By the way I want to recommend a German food blog written in english: www.deliciousdays.com. It is wonderful when you are fond of food!
Kindest regards Michaela

I am glad you and your family are ok...I was wondering, did you ever post a pic of your newly painted living room? I have been so excited to see how it turned out!!

Kim,
I don't comment often (sorry), but have loved following your blog since shortly after Kate came home. My heart was broken when I saw it had gone private! I'm so glad all is well and can understand your concern. I'm so sorry for Harry...such a tender age.
If you have time...I am working on my photography as well and have watched yours flourish. Was wondering what forums you have found most helpful for learning in Flikr? Or elsewhere? Just curious. Photos are looking great. Enjoy your time as a family.
Take care,
Kathy

Oh Kim! I was hoping that you took the 3peanuts blog down just over spring break, but I was afraid that perhaps someone not nice had caused trouble and that is why you went private. I am sorry for Harry, but hopefully this break will help him out.

Take care of you and those cute peanuts!

I can just imagine how hurtful that was for your son. I love that you gave your kids a voice in this and followed through. what a wonderful experience for them (not the picture though) - but the maturity they were able to show in their choice. Good for them!

What a drag though. I was so shocked you went private - of course I immediately thought, what did I do????? haha!!!

take care and come back as soon as your kids think you should!

Please disregard my comment in the last post. I didn't investigate very well (sorry, I haven't had much blog reading time lately), and I just read this post. I'm so sorry that Harry was embarrassed. I think you made a good call as a mom to temporarily make it private.

Oh Kim....I'm glad it is not over the top serious....I was worried since I know you have had problems before....and I just have to say again as I did on Flickr....this picture is really, really good. I have GOT TO LEARN HOW TO DO THIS! lol

Have a great week....
Hugs,
Steffie

P.S. I know that a lot of Emmie's friend's look at our blog too. Luckily we haven't had too many problems due to that. I only seem to get nasty comments if something I post in regards to Emmie having some bad moments. Sad isn't it?

Kim,
I'm so happy to hear ya'll are okay- I was worried when I went to get my daily dose of the peanuts and was unable to. Thanks so much for explaining it. Kids can be so tough on one another, although I know you said the boy wasn't technically mean. The crawfish look delicious!!

I am sorry to hear Harry had a bad experience. I am a loyal reader. I describe it as others do, my 3 peanuts fix!

I was so desperate to find out what happened, I googled 3 peanuts, found another blog of a friend of yours, emailed her and she directed me here!

Hope you all have a great Spring Break and hope to see you back blogging soon!

Dear Kim,

Although I haven't comment for a long time (sometimes I feel that my comments in english don't express my feelings in spanish and that they're stupid at all )I read and love your blog.
I want to tell you that I totally understand your decision...and that I'm waiting to read it again. You're an inspiration for me.
Lots of love,
